Meet and greet upon arrival at Reykjavik Airport. Transfer to your hotel. Check-in to the hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today morning Private Guided City Panoramic Tour of Reykjavik. This tour provides an excellent opportunity to discover various things to see or to do in Reykjavík during your stay in Iceland. On this tour you will see the The Old Höfði house where the all-important summit between the presidents Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbatsjov took place in 1986. Höfði house is also believed to be occupied by a ghost known as The White Lady. The tour proceeds to the Harpa concert hall and conference centre which was the 2013 winner of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture, Mies van der Rohe Award. We will check out the City Centre. You will see Hallgrímskirkja Church, whose design was inspired by basalt lava columns, a common volcanic rock formation in Icelandic nature. We will visit the viewing platform at Perlan glass dome which provides a 360° view over Reykjavík. After enjoying the view over Reykjavík from Perlan you will see Bessastaðir the official residence of the President of Iceland. Afternoon free at leisure to explore Reykjavik on your own.
Reykjavik - Waterfalls & Black Sand Beaches - Kirkjubæjarklaustur
Breakfast at the hotel. We will start the day with a drive along the south coast and we will visit the Geothermal Park in the town of Hveragerði. The Hveragerði Geothermal (Admission Included) area is in the centre of the scenic town of Hveragerði, approximately 45 km east of the capital, Reykjavík. At the centre visitors are invited to take a guided walk around the hot springs and learn a little about the geological history surrounding this unique area. In the Geothermal Park you can find old mud pools that produce material for natural mud baths. Visitors can experience first hand the benefits of therapeutic mud while enjoying a mud bath for their hands and feet. Visitors can also enjoy a bite of delicious bread baked using the geothermal heat and/or boil an egg in the hot steam. Later we will proceed to visit Seljalandsfoss (Admission Included). Seljalandsfoss is one of the best-known waterfalls in Iceland. It is 65 meters tall according to the National Land Survey of Iceland and it is breathtakingly beautiful. It is a must visiting Seljalandsfoss when visiting the south-coast, you will not regret it! Later we will proceed to Kirkjubæjarklaustur for our overnight stay. Check-in hotel.
Kirkjubæjarklaustur - Skaftafell & The Glacier Lagoon - Kirkjubæjarklaustur
Breakfast at the hotel. Today morning we will proceed to Skaftafell, a top adventure playground for outdoor lovers in Iceland. Go cycling, glacier hiking, ice caving and more in this incredible nature reserve in beautiful South Iceland. Starting with a visit to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where you can enjoy an optional guided amphibian boat tour among the floating icebergs. Adjacent to the Glacier Lagoon, you will visit the Diamond Beach, where you will see chunks of sparkling ice dotting the shore like diamonds. Next, you will head to the smaller Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon, before continuing to the beautiful Skaftafell area of Vatnajökull National Park, named for Iceland’s largest glacier. On your way back to the hotel you will stop at Dverghamrar, a small but impressive canyon full of unusual hexagonal basalt columns.
Kirkjubæjarklaustur - The Golden Circle - Reykjavik
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will head to the Golden Circle , a popular route for viewing some of the best-known natural sites in South Iceland. Your first stop is the picture perfect two-tiered Gullfoss Waterfall, where you can see the water thrash and tumble before falling metres below. Next, you will be driven to the Geysir area and explore the bubbling mud pots and spouting Strokkur geyser, which erupts steam and boiling water metres into the air every few minutes. You end the day with a visit to Þingvellir National Park before heading back to Reykjavik. Arrive and check-in at the hotel.
